Metroflor culminated its year long "Crush MS" fundraising campaign with a charity golf tournament on Tuesday, August 30, at Mill River Country Club in Stratford, CT near Metroflor's corporate headquarters in Norwalk. The select shot tournament began with a shotgun start at 12:30 pm with 11 teams comprised of Metroflor and Halstead associates, distribution and retail customers, and vendor partners. Awards were given for first and last place and various raffles were conducted with prizes ranging from golf balls to golf clubs and even a 50" 4K UltraHD Hisense Smart TV. Winning first place with a low score of 58 was the team of Steve Champagne, Nick Bendiak, Mike Bodack, and Russell Lee. Bringing up the rear, finishing 30 strokes behind the leaders, with a last place score of a whopping 88, was the team of Lou Smith, Jeff Putvinski, Steve Christoforidis, and Jack Testani.

Hat's off to Metroflor Marketing Associate, Michelle Esposito, who chaired the year long campaign and selected Crush MS as our cause due to her mother's battle with Multiple Sclerosis, a crippling disease that impacts the lives of millions of people worldwide both directly and indirectly.

Michelle and her committee team dedicated the past year to organizing the golf tournament,

created a Go Fund Me site, and hosted various local fund raising events throughout 2015-16. The Crush MS charity golf tournament contributed over $20,000 to the yearlong campaign that will have raised in excess of $31,000 with the proceeds to be donated towards research to find a cure for MS.
